Sam Lim Studio
|Fine photo journalism begins before the camera is even in hand. Representing the subject is much more than just capturing the image. It is taking the persona, or the spirit of an event and creating art from that. I adhere to that philosophy, giving the client more than just a picture, but a moment in time. I have always aimed at giving the customer more than they asked for. I keep on the cutting edge of technology, and I try to never forget the tried and true techniques that have gotten photography to where it is today. Being at the right place at the right time is all that matters, and those photographers who can capture the moment are an exclusive group. Upon gradutation from Brooks Institue of Photography, I interned with the famed Annie Leibovitz and later assisted for two years. While in New York, I rediscovered my style and form and interpreted my works from experience.|

I'm quite overdue to write a review for Sam's work! When we started the wedding planning process, one of the first things I did was start looking for an outstanding photographer. After the wedding is over, it's the photos that preserve the day for you. I saw some pretty bad portfolios (as in, "why would I pay someone to take worse photos than my family/friends could take?!"), and I also saw many good portfolios as well. However, many of the good photographers still didn't have that special something to capture a moment along with all of its emotions. Many of the photos looked the same and seemed very generic. Sam, on the other hand, has that special something. His portfolio is more than just good photographs. His photographs looked and felt different than others--his made you experience a moment. You can certainly find cheaper photographers, but few have Sam's talent and dedication. I'll also mention that aside from his artistic talents, Sam is also very professional and responsive. I'm so glad that we hired him (and also his talented partner, Jin), and we were extremely pleased with their work. --michellet

Simply put, Sam is AMAZING. He was my photographer for my engagement photos and wedding and it was one of the best decisions I made when it came to my wedding. He is talented. Period. He captures the most awesome shots and edits them beautifully. My wedding day was overcast and gloomy and you would never be able tell by looking at our pictures...it looks like a bright sunny day! Not only is he talented, he works well with your guests and works hard to get you the best shots. Not only is Sam himself awesome, the people he works with are just as awesome. In total, we had 3 photographers and 3 videographers from samlimstudio and each person was professional, super nice, and so talented. We also did the Same Day Edit and our guests absolutely loved the video and I have probably watched it myself about 46384895783 times. Talent. Professional. Nice. AMAZEBALLS!!! --janek
